It Follows Review

It's been a while since I saw a decent horror film. It follows definitely provided a new needed experience for the cult horror lovers. The interesting thing about the film is despite a small budget mediocre at best actors and refurbished idea. The film still managed to present something that was interesting to watch on the screen.

The main plot focused on a young college girl that found herself in a strange situation where something weird started following her. Everything started after sleeping with a guy she went on a few dates with when a strange creature that manages to change its form into bunch of disturbing characters constantly follows her. The guy who infected jay with the following freak told her that the only way to get rid of the creature is to sleep with someone else in order to pass on the thing to someone else. One more thing that our heroes found the hard way was if the creature catches you, you die and it rolls back following you once again its previous subject.
Trailer: It Follows

Like I mentioned before the acting, dialogs and the sleeping around teenagers in a horror film is not something new. But the surreal and quite environment of the suburbs made this film stand out. There were no special effects in the film and the mediocre acting ability of most of the cast presented a quite, cold and boring life's of our heroes. The only thing I had a problem was the ending. Our heroes supposedly killed the creature with a couple of head shots. While previously the creature was already shoot in that matter. So it's strange to "end" the film like that.
Overall if you like horror films I would recommend It Follows because surprisingly it's good enough.
